Spencer Overton is President of the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies. He is also a tenured Professor of Law at George Washington University, Senior Fellow at Demos, and a National Chair of Public Policy for Sigma Pi Phi (the Boule) – the nation’s oldest African-American fraternity. He previously served President Obama as Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General of Legal Policy at The Department of Justice. Spencer also was a Commissioner on the Jimmy Carter-James Baker Commission on Federal Election Reform.
