Wes Moore previously served as the CEO of Robin Hood, the largest poverty-fighting organization in the country. Robin Hood partners with more than 200 nonprofits in New York City striving to uplift low-income individuals. Under his leadership, Robin Hood shifted its focus from alleviating poverty to supporting economic sustainability and creative solutions to eradicate poverty. Moore’s first book, “The Other Wes Moore,” a perennial New York Times bestseller, illustrated the fine line between success and failure for millions of Americans. That story has been optioned by executive producer Oprah Winfrey and HBO to be made into a motion picture. Moore grew up in Baltimore and the Bronx, graduated with honors from Valley Forge Military College in 1998 and with honors from Johns Hopkins University in 2001. He earned a master’s degree in International Relations from Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar in 2004. Moore then served as a captain and paratrooper with the U.S. Army’s 82nd Airborne, including a combat deployment to Afghanistan. He later served as a White House Fellow to Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. Moore also previously served on the Black Economic Alliance Board of Directors.
The Black Economic Alliance is proud of the work that its members and leaders do to drive economic progress in the Black community. The six-figure ad-buy is running on digital platforms that target African American audiences in Baltimore County and Prince George’s County, Maryland. The ad highlights Maryland Gubernatorial candidate Wes Moore, who earlier this year released his own work, wages, and wealth plan for Black families in the state. The ad campaign began airing on April 18th and will run until May 17th.
